Summary Of the Play: In this traditional play of Karagöz; Hacivat comes to the stage singing, reciting a poem, "gazel" and calls his friend Karagöz down from his house for a chat which is also the introduction part (mukaddeme) of the play. After the introduction dialogue between Karagöz and Hacivat and their small argument, second part of the play;dialogue (muhavere) begins. The main plot takes place in the third part ( fasil ) of the play. Since Karagöz is penniless he asks Hacivat for help. Hacivat offers him to put up a swing and hire it out to people and share the money they earn by this way. Different characters come to the stage to see the swing. In olden times, before the entertainment began, 
varied pedlars passed in front of the screen selling their wares. This play ends happily
with music and fin-de-siécle cabaret chanteuse, efeler and belly dancers.
